Shanghai Research Institute of Materials (SRIM), with splendid career since its foundation in 1946, is a 
polytechnical research organization with a large scale and an advanced level for materials 
engineering and application. With the reforming in-depth of scientific and technical system 
in China, since July 1999, the institute has been launching out on a new developing 
period, in which, SRIM has put more emphasis not only on strengthening a R&D system 
and technical service system orientated to the market needs with vital innovation in the
